Martyrs’ Weekend 2021: Heroes Come in All Forms
Service Opportunities: CLICK HERE to sign up!
As we remember Constance and Her Companions, the Martyrs of Memphis, this year, we are inviting each of you to offer an act of love and service to someone in our community. The events have been carefully planned to assure they are Covid safe. The Cathedral has four specific opportunities for you to choose from:
Phone calls to the sick and shut ins -- organized by Maureen Woodruff and Laura Williams
Morris Park cleanup -- organized by John Tackett and Sarah Cowan
Elmwood Graveside cleanup -- organized by Bradley Leavitt, September 4th at 10 am
Constance Abbey project, sorting donated clothes, one hour slots -- organized by Anne Boykin
All volunteers need to contact the appropriate organizer. Contact Rebecca Chappell at 901-413-4756 if you have questions or need contact numbers for any of the organizers.
As our collect for the day says, “Inspire in us a like love and commitment to those in need…” In these small ways, we can honor Constance and Her Companions, the heroes of 9/11, the heroes of this pandemic—our first responders, health care and essential workers--, and all our heroes at all times and in all places.
