The earliest written record we have about Jesus and those who followed him come from Paul’s letters written between about 52 CE to 62 CE, more than 30 years after Jesus’ Resurrection. And strangely, he tells us almost nothing about the person Jesus and his earliest followers. Most of our information about that comes from the four Gospels and Acts, written about 70 CE to 110 CE, or more than 40 years after Jesus, and not, as often thought, by eyewitnesses!
From these sources, however, we can piece together what Jesus saw as his purpose and compare that to what Paul saw as his. This study will provide some compelling thoughts and insights that will help us in our own faith formation and living.
