Sacred Ground
Do You Understand Your Own White Privilege?
Are you interested in learning more about racial justice and your role in our community regarding issues of racism? Sacred Ground is a film and readings based dialogue series based on race, grounded in faith. Designed by the Episcopal Church, the series is designed for small groups to view films, review readings and discuss difficult issues of racism and economic justice in our community. Susan Nelson will facilitate a small discussion group this fall and is looking for 4-12 people to join her in this journey. The group will meet every 2 weeks for 90 minute sessions, at Crosstown Concourse. There is no charge for attending the series, but participants are asked to commit to attend all sessions, with the first session starting in mid August, for a total of 11 sessions. The series has already been offered at Calvary, in case you know anyone who has been through the course already.
St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral will host an introductory session on Sunday, July 28 after worship service, with a 3-5 minute film and 15-20 minute discussion afterwards. This will give you a taste of the course content. Please come to our intro session and consider whether you are ready to join us in this journey.
